Lancashire Syndicate 2010 2019 Result & Updated 2020 Year of Account Forecast
Posted 15/02/2022 – Quick takes
Lancashire has announced its result for the 2019 year of account for its syndicate 2010 and has also released an updated forecast for the 2020 year of account.
The 2019 result of a loss of -0.5% of capacity is a considerable improvement on the midpoint of the previous forecast range, which was set between -10.0% and -0% of capacity, midpoint -5.0%.
The 2020 forecast range has narrowed to between -9.0% and +1.0% of capacity, midpoint -4.0%. The previous forecast range was between -12.5% and +2.5% of capacity, midpoint -5.0%
Although the 2019 result is disappointing, this is the second successive year to close with a result well above the midpoint of the previous forecast range, which highlights the strength of this syndicate’s reserves and the conservative nature of its forecasts. Whilst the 2020 year of account looks slightly better than 2019 at the same stage, it is still forecasting a small loss. The final result for 2020 will very much depend upon the development of the final year.
