S.A. Meacock has announced an updated forecast for the 2021 year of account and an initial forecast for the 2022 year of account for its syndicate 727 as at 31st March 2023.
Syndicate 727
The 2021 forecast range has narrowed to between -4.0% and +10.0% (midpoint +3.0%) of capacity. The previous range was between -8.0% and +12.0% (midpoint +2.0%) of capacity.
An initial 2022 forecast range of between -8.0% and +12.0% of capacity has been set, midpoint +2% of capacity.
Alpha comment
It is usual to see the open year forecast for this syndicate slowly improve over time, as is the case for the 2021 year. The initial forecast for 2022 is modest, due to the syndicate’s current large reserve for hurricane Ian (one of the largest of all our syndicates) which continues the syndicate’s standard approach to cautious reserving.
