Lloyd’s has appointed Claire Schrader as General Counsel. Schrader has been acting as General Counsel on an interim basis to cover Peter Spires, who resigned from the role in August 2023.

Lloyd’s CEO John Neal commented on the appointment saying “During Claire’s time at Lloyd’s she has built a strong reputation among her colleagues in the Corporation and throughout the market as a trusted legal adviser. She is a great role model for our future leaders, and I’m extremely pleased to confirm her permanently in a role which is critical to Lloyd’s delivering on its strategic priorities.”

Alpha comment

Schrader has worked at Lloyd’s since 2000 and therefore has a breadth of knowledge and large professional network, within the London and Lloyd’s market. As she was interim General Counsel, there will be little, if any, change to her current role.
