S.A. Meacock has announced its result for the 2022 Year of Account for syndicate 727 and has also released an update for the 2023 year of account

The 2022 year has closed with a profit of +15.7%. This compares with the previous forecast of a profit in the range 7.5% and +15.0%, midpoint +11.25%.
The 2023 forecast remains unchanged, with a range between +0.0% and +15.0% of capacity, midpoint 7.5%
Alpha comment
This is good result, the strongest profit the syndicate has reported since the close of the 2014 year of account. We have come to expect an improvement in the final quarter of development on this syndicate, which we believe to be due to increased releases from the prior years.
The 2023 forecast remains unchanged at this stage, which looks modest based on the low level of major loss activity seen during the 2023 calendar year. We would expect that the 2023 year could produce a result at least as good as the result declared for the 2022 year, whilst maintaining the usual level of prudent reserves.
