Charles Kinnoull

Charles Kinnoull entered the House of Lords in February 2015 and is a crossbench member.

Since 2019 he has served as Chair of the European Affairs Select Committee, having joined the Committee in early 2016. He is also Deputy Chair of Committees and a Deputy Speaker. Charles is a barrister and was previously at Hiscox Group, a leading international insurer and FTSE company which manages at Lloyd’s syndicate 33, for 25 years. He was a member of the Executive Committee that runs Hiscox for 10 years and during his time there, among other things, he ran Hiscox’s European offices and Hiscox’s private client, art and heritage insurance business worldwide. Charles joined as a non-executive director of Alpha in January 2023.
